ABOUT

Lydia is a Professional Vocalist from Coventry. She is classically trained and can sing in all styles and genres. She graduated from both her undergraduate and PGCert at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the tutelage of Jonathan Gunthorpe and outside of conservatoire, Stephanie Windsor-Lewis.

Lydia is currently enjoying work as a professional singer for weddings, funerals and events.

Lydia has performed various roles in the Conservatoire’s Opera Scenes including Countess (Mozart; Le Nozze Di Figaro) in a socially distanced class performance of Opera Bites, Tatyana (Tchaikovsky; Eugene Onegin), Marguerite in (Gounod; Faust), Nymph 2 (Dvořák; Russalka), Echo (Humperdinck; Hansel and Gretel).  Lady Dunmow (Berkeley; A Dinner Engagement CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 and Chorus for Elektra with Bournemouth Symphony orchetra CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19.

Lydia was part of Voxbox: Dylan Perez explores the works of Samuel Barber. She was also a chorus member in (Mozart; The Magic Flute) and ‘The Enchanted Island’ arranged by Jeremy Sams.

 

Additionally, Lydia took part in Paul Farrington’s Masterclass and course for Professional Voice Users and Teachers in 2022.

 

Lydia has also given recital at St John’s church in Coventry and has sung as part of a choir at Coventry Cathedral. In addition to this she has sung with AberOpera ensemble in Aberystwyth, Wales. Lydia competed in the Leamington Spa Competitive Festival for several years, winning first place in multiple categories and was awarded the prestigious Courier cup in 2018 and 2019.

Prior to Conservatoire, Lydia has also had years of experience with Musical Theatre being part of Coventry’s Youth Operetta group (YOG) playing the significant role of Carlotta in Lloyd Webber’s ‘Phantom of the Opera’
